Cliff Mason, a veteran firefighter for the U.S. Forestry Service, is branded a coward by a rookie fireman who holds him responsible for the death of his father in a forest fire. However, when Mason and his men are stranded in the middle of a raging fire, he puts his own personal safety aside to lead his men out of danger.
